Favourite VAG-COM Options

Well I just pulled the plug on a new VAG-COM and thought a thread on your "favourite programming options" might be fun and educational.

Some of us (ie. North American owners, Canadians especially) seem to have been programmed "out in the cold". Many standard, European features are n/a. I'm hoping the VAG-COM will change some of that!

I'll start with the two at the top of my list:

1. My all-time favourite, "sweeping dial needles on startup". (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tGCcIcMoc)
2. Seat heat settings remains at restart (Climatronic).

So, what features have you enabled on you new MkVI GTI?

hi how do we activate the sweeping dial needles on startup with vagcom i wouldnt mind doing this

First you need VCDS Version 912 Beta. Available for download from Ross-Tech. [url]http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/beta/current.html/[url]

Under module 17 "Instruments" select 10 "Adaption" then "Staging" and finally "Activate". That's it. It only works on "H" designated instrument clusters.

Two more for the list:

1. Windows up and down by remote key fob.

2. Change "comfort" blinker from three blinks to your choice. 2? 4?
