Here's some info on the latest development from Revo for the Mk6: -

The remap includes 4 modes (Stock, 95,97,104+ron) and resets the Reflash counter on the ECU. Plus normal Revo stuff like support for the select plus switch.

This is on general release this Friday  happy2

OK, done a couple of hundred miles now and WOW what a great result!

Firstly a big thanks to Paul and Neal at APD for getting the car up to Daventry and to Kevin and Carl at Revo for taking care of the car.

The car is smoother and more civilised in low gears around town as long as you don't boot it, however you haven't got to be timid with the throttle, there's no wild sudden power delivery.

When you have the right bit of road, throttle down in second can provide a little loss of grip at first, too much throttle could induce a wheelspin but as i've said in other posts, the Golf seems to get the power down better than my previous car (Scirocco) so even with the extra power and torque that Revo have unlocked, it's very usable.

So, the power, looking at the graphs that Revo posted here, we're looking at a strong gain in BHP but a real boost in torque and that is really what you feel when you press the throttle.  People speak about being 'thrown back in the seats' but the delivery is so smooth and progressive that I don't concur on that but you go very fast very quickly.  The best news is the noise, it's a lot spicier than it was, it's got that growl that it should have had from the factory, in fact in my view this is the real GTI as VW should have made it.

I'll post again when I've got some more miles on the remap.

Very, very impressed with the results, big thanks to Revo and APD.

i think they quote 40 as car stock does more than the 210ps VW quote for the car  happy2

I look forward to seeing what my Mk6 does on the rollers at Surrey RR at the end of the month.  It will be having it's first service the day before so lets see what happens.

Gossa, do you have an update as i guess you must have put a few more miles under the wheels since the re map now?

Be interesting to see what yours comes in at Thor.

I put up a thread on another forum (different silly username on there due to this username being lost when the site crashed some years ago). http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=135005.0
The car was run at TSR in Bridgwater coming in at 260bhp and 299lb ft running on cheapo supermarket unleaded.

Breezer,

The car is standard at the moment, so it will be good to get a base line figure before anything else goes on.  The Revo site says that MK6 TSi motor they have tested are up at 235bhp standard, so lets see what comes out from saturday. party

Both me and the better half feel that the way the power is delivered our Mk6 GTI is very close to our 350Z in real world driving situations.  With the maximum torque coming in around 1700rpm it makes the motor feel very strong, as i'm sure you'll agree. happy2

Yeah, it's not bad as standard but can be made quite a bit better!
I'll be interested to see what yours puts out as a standard car, but you'll need to compare it with others on the day really to eliminate the dyno lottery element.

Heres the plot from the RR day at Surrey.   happy2

It compares well with the figures Revo say the cars are doing standard

Other figures have been posted by Oli over on the MK5 forum page here http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=7178.360
