Sounds nice, how come you ordered today and get told delivery in 2 weeks, I ordered mine 26th May got told this week it's in build week 28 so delivery sometime towards end July. What other spec did you order?
There are built cars in stock in the UK and Germany, if you're flexible on spec then you can get one pretty quick. I wanted a five door manual with cloth, there were black, white and red available with various options but I fancied the red, had a red A4 Avant Sline 1.8T a few years back and the colour was great. My roc is black and it's a nightmare to keep clean.
My only other criteria was 18" Monzas but every car had them anyway, this ones got a winter pack which I wasn't bothered about. In fact I wasn't really bothered about any other options. The touch screen 510 head unit in the Roc is a novelty that isn't worth paying the extra £350 for, prefer the cloth than the leather too.
However different dealers and even VW UK tell widely different stories about how quickly you can get a car. I had a chat with the sales manager at Breeze Poole today when I went in to ask about an accessory brochure, I explained constructively that I tried to buy the Scirocco and the Golf there but their lack of willingness to put together a reasonable proposition took me elsewhere. He said the guy I dealt with absolutely right to say absolutely not a penny off the GTI. Hmmm, when I'm going to replace my £25K Vito with a Transporter sportline soon, I probably won't go there either.............
Dealers have had a buoyant sales period on Foxes and Polos due to the scrappage scheme and the complacency is setting in again.......
