Test driving a Black DSG one in the morning, tried to get it for the day whilst mine is in for warranty work instead of a bland 1.2 Polo  sick0020

Salesmen said he cant let me have it on my own for insurance reasons. I have no intention of buying one but have nothing better to do in the morning so thought I would have a blast. Wont be a real test drive with some random saleman sat next to me  chicken

I have to say people like you really cock things up for genuine people who want to buy!! why are you spending the morning wasting some blokes time when you have no intentions of buying??? then when the person who really wants to buy walks in the dealership they think we are all like you... Think you need to grow up and get a life!!! P.S picking mine up tomorrow!!

That aimed at me or the majority of this forum?

Its the 'New' GTI why would I not want to test drive one, if its that good...which I doubt it is in comparison to the ED30 I may even be tempted.

That 'when the person who really wants to buy walks in the dealership they think we are all like you' boat sailed a long time ago. Most salesmen look at a young lad and instantly think he cant afford a nice car hence I couldnt even get a test drive in an Edition 30 until I bought it.

A friend is looking to buy a BMW or RR Sport and she barely gets a glance as shes young. Does that means she has no money?

Like 2 other people have said in this very thread, they want a drive, do you want me to quote reply #3, 4 and 5?

What difference does it make to you if I want to test drive a car with no intention of buying it?

I however will be looking and waiting for a limited edition..35 - R20 - R36 possibly? No harm in getting a feel for the MK5.5 MK6 now is there?

Also its not as if I am wasting the guys whole morning as it will be what 15-30 minutes tops I get to drive the car.

'Sir can I offer you a test drive of this Porsche 911?'

Are you going to say no?

I had no intention of buying my MKIV R32 when I took it for a spin £21,600 later and it was on my drive.

Anyone in sales should know that anyone who takes the time out to drive the car is a potential customer even if they don't buy it they go down the pub that night and say "Drove MK6 GTi today wish I had the money" they have started the ball rolling.

I run a Hi-Fi shop and have a 10k system on the shop floor, even if a 14 year old comes in I would dem it to them.

Exactly.

Just goes to show, im sure I have said this somewhere before but never judge a book by its cover. That kid could be rich as hell...who knows.
