No i won't be trading in.
Why,
The price now compared to what i paid for mine. I could not buy a similar equipment spec polo GTI now for what i got my mk6 GTI new for a year ago.
If i did trade in, i would want to go mad with options and the lack of parts meens lack of options available.
Plus more paint cutbacks, what i see as cutbacks anyway, with matt finishes in engine bays etc i would not be happy with.
Lack of paint colours due to paint shortages may also be an issue.

Lets all not guess the engine yet or make assumptions, a certain mag did this with the Edition30 and it was spread like wild fire as 'the truth' on the internet even after i kept showing time and time and time and time and time again info from ETKA that prooved otherwise. Lets just wait and see what it is first  Wink before making assumptions. As we all know assumptions are the mother of all ####ups. Grin

Well, my lousy mpg figures have shoved a cracker up my pert petrol bottom. As I don't do much mileage and being the proud owner of a Freedom Pass and with no mortgage, I don't really feel the pinch as much as some of you young Turks with all the mod cons of modern living.
However, I refuse to pay out £30k+ for a fast VW. It's plain daft.
Maybe VW want the VW brand to be now considered a Premium Product. I say, get the kcuf off to them.
What happened to benevolent Capitalism or Socialism, eh?
'Ve have vays and means to be ze biggest and ze greediest', is their motto.
VW: You are the people's car so don't sh!t on your Audi parade. But then, I suppose, if upstart Skoda can do it to VW, why not VW to Audi?
Maybe I am getting a bit confused and need to go outside and lick Wolfgang's pipes before it gets too dark ... Bottoms up!
As for the Ed35 ... Naff off ...  Tongue

No, I think it very very unlikely I will trade to an ED35 unless I was offered a massive discount. That's not going to happen.
My GTI will be 3 years old before the ED35 orders are probably built for the UK, so I will be overdue a car change as I never keep cars long. I think it very unlikely I'll buy another new(ish) VW.
I'm waiting to see how the next generation of SEAT Leon shapes up. If it looks like a poor option I'll probably buy a run out model current shape car subject to available discounts. The GTI has priced itself out of what I'm willing to pay.

So is the the current 888 motor with a K04 or the old S3 motor? I'm confused...thought the current motor with K04 was pretty protent as an aftermarket mod.

So I'm guessing the current motor is not too tolerant of K04... Or are they just clearing out old stock?

Why spend time developing and lots and lots of money type approving another engine for such a short production run when you can have one ready made in the spec you want with all ancillerys straight out the box. Cheap and chearful special edition.
