Looking for a set of 19s but VW does not seem to have much that is usable. Can get the 19s off the R, but don't want to go to far towards making GTi look like an R...
Saw a Cupra R on fifth gear the other night, and like the look of the "potenza" 19s on. Not strictly VW OEM but close enough.
any know the offest and how it compares to the 19 on the golf R? Evne more helpful if anyone can track down the part number of somewhere to pick them up?

The wheels on the Cupra R are called Ronal R46s.
I was toying with buying a set of 18'' versions for a while as they are light and strong. Very similar wheels were used on the SEAT Leon race cars.

thanks for info - ronal site lists 18s as the largest version. Perhaps made spcifically for Seat?
seems quite difficult to find a set of 19s the same size as the Rs Telldegas  Sad

Do you specifically want a set of OEM VAG wheels?
There are plenty of 19'' wheels that will fit without rubbing issues. BBS CHs are (or at least always were) available in 8x18 with a 50mm offset which is nearly identical to OEM. My BBSs and most others that are 8 inch wide VW Golf fitment are ET44 and don't have any rubbing issues on standard suspension even with 235 tyres fitted.

If you are a member of seatcupra.net/forums post up a query for the Potenza part number and price in the forum area sponsored by Sere Motors. They offer decent discounts on parts.
Have a look at this thread too: http://seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=304600&highlight=cupra+potenza

I thought previously that the R46 was available in 19''. I was either plain wrong or that SEAT now have the exclusive use of the design for the Cupra R. Handsome wheels whatever way you look at it!

Thanks mate - yup, will register up at a seat forum or two and see if I can get the part number. Next issue would be to see if VW can bring through a seat part as Seat closed shop here a couple years back...
Prefer OEM, but if it's not going to work, it's not going to work!

Steve's moved his GTI on now and it's back on standard wheels. AFAIK he didn't ever fit the Sagittas.
They come in 41mm offset like Interlagos so would suffer the same slight 'poke' at the front, which would be no good for a lowered car (but would clear big brakes!).

Not usually there not.

VW has JUST added a new optional 19" wheel for the GTI  jumpmove
Its suppose to look like the TTRS wheels.
Im in the process of getting the info from the VW bullettin. jumpmove

Failed at photos but a previous VW press release used the same name for the alloys

I know its an R but the press release of that concept says 19" Glendale alloys finished in Brilliant Silver  Wink

Thanks mate! Please let me know the part number, J and offset should you find it.
For the SEAT wheel - got VAG part number from dealer as 1P0 071 493A 72V. Priced at a GBP650 a wheel  confused even then, not sure on offset etc. You guys can get them for 500 quid inc tyres...
