The interior door panel,
How is the top next to the window held to stop it moving about,
3 of mine move in and out towards the window and cause cracking noises.
The third one is solid and does not move so rattle free.

Looking at Steves door light DIY it seems the rubber window seal is not part of the door panel like it is on other cars door panel design were it is used to hold the door panel steady. So how is this done with the mk6 golfs door panels?

The top of the panel slots into the part of the window seal that on the metal door frame, I did manage on one of mine to get part of it out of alignment when putting the trim back on but that left a 1/4 inch gap.

It's not really adjustable from what I remember, it was a pretty tight fit on all of mine.

Thanks Steve,
Do you think its possible to miss this slot during assembly and so allow the door panel to move/flex in this area?

At the top of my panel if you push next to the decorative trim/door release handle, the door panel bit next to the window can move quick easy prob about 5mm.

The door panel seems much closer to the window on the one door thats not making a noise and seems much tighter and more solid compared to the other 3. ashamed

Unlikely but possible, worth getting some spare clips of the door trim panel and re-seating the door card  happy2
