I do think 23K for the spec levels they talk about in the magazine i read today is a bit much.
Especially as leather is now a option (so ~1700) were as in the past couple of years it was standard on the mk5 and prob other things optional too (looking at config on Vw.co.uk) that meens the 5door GTI in reality has ~£3500+ price hike over the mk5!
Even what i would class as a basic spec for me and im not a huge option loader would come to ~26.5K i could have a similar spec S3 for less!
