Removal on door sill trim (4 door)

Anyone know how to remove the trim covering the door sills without breaking it?
My usual method is pulling hard, but there seems to be some other different clips in the back door section holding things down.
My-gti has this GUIDE, but it's not all that clear.

It really does need to be pulled hard, I normally start at the front footwell and work my way back
