Hey Steve! Hope all good!
remember reading a post somewhere where you commented a lot on retrofitting LED headlight.
Is this an easy retrofit, or does it need certain controller version?
You also mentioned something about it getitng rid of the rear LED error message?
Lastly, can you source them?

Steve is in the process of doing this conversion give him a couple of days as he has just got the parts, (He just got a new controller.)

Here is a few quotes so far
Quote
the only thing i am sure of is D and E versions do work, and for LED xenon's you need software index of above 0575 and above.

So basically a golf build from build week 45 2009 or newer.

Looks good. Need to get an idea of costs to see whwther this is pie in the sky or a possibility.
With DRL on, and head off do your rear lights go out too?

Nope the swap over from original Xenon's to LED Xenon's is about an hours work, and if your BMC is upto date enough then it's just coding that is required  happy2

Yep, I now have it working just how I want it.

So the switch works as follows: -

Off = All Off
Auto (Daylight) = Front DRL's only
Auto (Dark) = Dipped beam Xenon with a dimmed LED DRL's
Side Light = Front DRL's and Rear Lights
Indicator = Audi Style Dimming on the side of the active indicator

I will do a write up of the coding and install process at the weekend  happy2
